Tim Hortons gives hundreds of thousands of Canadian kids their first team. Every one of those teams needs an adult on the bench, and most of them are parents who volunteered. We train coaches for a living. We'd like to help Tims look after the first coach, too.
Hope, this spring you put the number on it: Tim Hortons supports more than 250,000 youth through Timbits Soccer every season. That's a first team, and a first jersey, for most of them.
Here's the part nobody tells. Every Timbits team runs on a parent who said yes to coaching. One Timbits program in Calgary put it plainly on its 2026 sign-up page: “teams will be cancelled if coaches are not acquired.” Those parents are the reason the season happens. Most of them are already your customers.
We already train a lot of them. Every Timbits hockey head coach completes the same first coaching course, and it comes from the national system we run. We'd like to make that visible, take it to every Timbits sport, and give your restaurant owners a way to thank the coach on their team. In a way you can count at the counter.
250,000+ in soccer every season, about 100,000 in hockey. Each team led by volunteers.
Jerseys, medals, cards, camps and Team Canada. Nothing yet for the adult on the bench.
NCCP Coach 1, from the national coaching system CAC runs with sport bodies across Canada.
The place a new coach signs up, takes their first course and comes back every season.
Think about who coaches a Timbits team. A mom or dad with a kid on the roster, up early on a Saturday, probably holding a coffee. A family, a Tims Rewards household, a morning regular. We meet that parent at the exact moment they agree to coach. Today, Tims doesn't.
Restaurant owners pay for jerseys, medals and coaching tools. The coach is whoever said yes, trained to whatever the local club asks.
The same parent, ready on day one, thanked by name at the end of the season, and rewarded at their local Tims.
A program that gets every Timbits volunteer ready, recruits the ones still missing, thanks them in public and rewards them at the counter. It works alongside the courses Hockey Canada and soccer clubs already run. It doesn't replace any of them.
Tims covers free access to our multisport starter modules for every Timbits volunteer: Safe Sport Training, the Rule of Two, a first coaching course. Online, built from eLearning CAC already runs.
A National Coaches Week campaign in September aimed at Timbits parents, run through our Become a Coach sign-up and the paid digital and creator work already in our 2026–27 plan.
A new category in the National Coaching Leadership Awards. Restaurant owners nominate the coaches of the teams they sponsor. The owner and the coach share the moment.
Finish Coach Ready and a Tims Rewards offer lands in your app, good at your local restaurant. Your team sets the offer. We put it in front of the coach at the moment they finish.
Timbits-sponsored clubs invited into our Responsible Coaching Movement: screening, ethics training and the Rule of Two. 1,930 clubs have already signed on.
"Timbits gives a kid their first team. We'd like to give them a great first coach."
